Greetings!
We hope you enjoy your visit to our little shop. Although the shop is new, the people behind the scenes have decades of experience and are dedicated to ensure quality products.
Goals
To develop software and hardware applications primarily targeted at the Macintosh market. One of the primary goals is to take my experience and reverse engineer hardware and software for which there is no Macintosh version or for which the Macintosh software is poorly designed. We want to build solid and visually appealing products for the Macintosh platform which behaves in the manner Macintosh users expect.
Background & Experience
DacWare is the brainchild of Dave Carlton (my initials DAC :) who has been programming since 1977 and owned serial numer 2008 of the original Macintosh back in 1984.
I worked as an independent consultant in process control and security systems for many years, primarily overseas. I designed and implemented the security software at the Kori Nuclear Power Plant in South Korea. Afterwards, I worked several years in Saudi Arabia on the King Khalid Airport control system.
I went to work at Apple Computer in 1995 where my first project was writing the Energy Saver control panel. Later, I started and managed the Open Firmware department at Apple until I retired in 2005.
Our Location
We moved up to Forbestown CA in the Sierra mountains in 2006 where I run my home based business on a satellite connection. I now have the freedom to pursue some projects I have been wanting to do for many years.
The Last Macintosh Easter Egg
You can find my name along with the rest of the team inside of any PowerPC Macintosh. Power up while holding the 4 keys command-option-O-F and wait till you have entered Open Firmware. Then type the word kudos to see the team.
